How I revived my dead Ring Wired Doorbell Pro

After reading many stories online and finding out that my doorbell is about 4–5 years old, I was quite sure it was dead as a door nail.

There was no lights, nothing.

The only thing which indicated that it had any life left was that it was intermittently connecting to the WiFi in this state.

I had almost decided to replace it before I tried one last thing.

I opened the face plate with the screw driver which came with the box (the screw is under it).

Then, I pressed the side button for 15 seconds.

It did not do anything or turn the lights on like it was supposed to.

Then I pressed that button once more, and it spoke to me: “Update in progress”

That took a while to complete. About 30 minutes or so.

It finally showed up as updating on the app as well.

Works like a song now!

Just the camera is blurry — but the doorbell is completely usable! It rings the bell also.

Everything else was not really of much use anyway.
