How this startup helps you build a scalable app with a minuscule team, on a shoestring budget

I have been scouring the internet to find interesting new startups to talk about. Google does not make it easy to find anything, anymore. If you get beyond the “personalization” echo chamber it has built, you will still not find good companies who have built great products, even if they are out there.
This is because small companies don’t have the hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on Ads on all these different platforms. I personally feel that Ads are way too expensive for anybody but the largest of companies. It is really the worst kind of monopoly.

The founder of the company has languished in obscurity for a long time. He is an immigrant who has gone through all the trials and tribulations of being an H1b holder in Silicon Valley. Imagine the worst case scenario of being without a job in late 2008, on an H1b visa, with his first child on the way. That is as bad as it gets.
You see these amazing companies grow, and you can’t join them because of your visa status. You can’t go back because you are a dissident with powerful people against you where you came from.
He developed a lot of successful software for a multitude of (mostly ungrateful) companies for a very long time — these are the ones filling the valley who treat people as replaceable minions. They just use you when you are young, and discard you when you are older — even though you may have more experience than others.
He has seen many software engineers in that situation — great engineers, with a lot of experience and knowledge to share — but struggling to find a new job. The VP of Engineering who got an Oscar for his work in Star Wars, but demoted now, and eventually kicked out of the company. Or, in the worst case scenario the homeless guy downtown who used to be a DBA.
