I will save you a lot of trouble. If you upgrade your RAM on this motherboard, before you replace the memory disable the XMP profile.

Then reboot, shut down and replace the memory

Then open the BIOS and set the XMP profile again.

It will work great!

This motherboard is the latest version, so it is weird that it’s software is living in the past.

I recommend ASUS motherboards. I had to get the Gigabyte at the time because it was the cheapest motherboard available on the market. I suppose next time, I will stick with ASUS/ ASRock.

I first got ASRock, because the name was similar to ASUS. I lucked out. It’s bios is better, but ASUS is better.

I recommend ASUS because I was impressed by their Pro motherboard as compared to the very expensive Dell Precision 5680 Workstation. It is inexcusable when such an expensive workstation does not tell you when one of the SSDs in the RAID 10 array is going bad, and finally died.

The Dell did not — the ASUS did. I compared both motherboards, and I found better workmanship in the ASUS while the Dell worked, but was optimized to save cost — not make the customer’s life better
