Yes, it makes sense to install Windows 11 wherever you can.

So, I have been using Windows since XP which I have believed to be the best OS Microsoft ever made. Windows 10 was good only as in it was better than 7. I think Windows 11 is something refreshing from Microsoft in a very, very long time. Windows has never felt like this before. I can’t put my finger quite onto why — it could be the curved corners of the windows, or the OSX like user interface.

The Install

The Install went quite well on supported PCs. However, you can also get it to install on unsupported CPUs. I did ensure that I have TPM 2.0:

  • For my custom built Desktop PC, I was able to install a TPM 2.0 chip a month before the release date.
  • For my Dell laptop, they conveniently released a TPM 2.0 firmware update.

Both had unsupported CPUs, but I installed Windows 11 on both PCs because:

  • PCs don’t last long anyway. I might as well use Windows 11 on them while they last
  • I plan to eventually swap out the motherboard and CPU on the Desktop PC with a supported Ryzen 2 CPU (right now it has an unsupported Ryzen 1).
